Sheila holds a diploma in Teacher Education from Shortwood Teacher’s College in Jamaica, a Bachelors of Art (BA) degree from the University of the West Indies and a Masters of Library Science (MLS) from North Carolina Central University.
Sheila joined the staff of Premier Financial Group in 2009, and works in client services where she processes insurance applications for underwriting.
Prior to coming to Premier, Sheila was a teacher in Jamaica and worked at the elementary and junior high school levels. As a librarian she has worked in public, private and academic libraries. With over fifteen years experience as director of a university library, she is proficient in the skills of budget management, research, training programs and workshops, grant writing and Microsoft Office applications She has subscribed to, and participated in, a host of scholarly organizations which included, The American Library Association (ALA), the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), The Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), HBCU Library Initiative, and many more.
